City's Under-18s returned from Reading with a 1-1 draw on Saturday lunchtime.

Injuries, illnesses and first-team call-ups had left Steve Beaglehole's squad threadbare, but Billy McKay's (pictured) second half effort ensured the Foxes came away with a share of the spoils.

"I was really pleased with the lads' efforts and we responded in the right fashion after going a goal down in the first half," said Academy Manager Jon Rudkin.

"And in the end we could have easily won the game against a Reading side who are always strong."

Rudkin was also complimentary of the surface at Reading.

He added: "Considering all the rain we have had of late, the pitch was in terrific condition and played really well."

Meanwhile, City's Under-18s will face a trip to Chelsea in the fifth round of the FA Youth Cup after the Blues comfortably overcame Shrewsbury Town 4-0 at Brentford FC on Friday evening.

A date for the last 16 clash has yet to be confirmed.

City: Pentney, O'Neill, Garner, Rowe-Turner, Beswick, King C (John 45), Howard, Tuttle, Burns, McKay, Chambers A (Chamberlain 45).
