LCFC Women 5-2 Loughborough Dynamo
City moved into the Semi-Final of the County Cupat Winchester Road, Blaby.
On a slippery surface the Foxes mounted two quick attacks, with Harriet Crofts and Remi Allen testing the Dynamo keeper, Becky Robinson.
Dynamo were defending with many numbers behind the ball and trying to hit the Foxes on the break.
City went forward again which resulted in a corner which Leah Rawle swung in from the right, which resulted in a penalty being awarded as City central defender, Jade Radburn was fouled. Skipper Allen stepped up and coolly slotted home.
Dynamo were battling hard to keep City at bay but the Foxes went further ahead when Hannah Barrett threaded a lovely weighted pass to Natasha Meade who outstripped the Dynamo defence to ram home.
Five minutes later winger, Kara Frederick, finished smartly after good exciting play by Meade and Handley which found a quality cross into the box for Frederick to head home.
However Dynamo prompted forward and a through ball split the City defence and a free-kick was awarded, Sarah Bentley floated the ball into the box, City's keeper, Laura Niblett, could only parry the ball away but Mary Cameron followed up to hit home just before the interval.
The second period became a little scrappy affair but Dynamo scored a second when a through ball split the City rear guard and Destiny Toussaint finished well past Niblett.
City moved up a gear as they stretched the Dynamo full backs and two goals came within a minute, first Allen down the left whose cross cannoned off a Dynamo defender into the net and Rachel Williams did exactly the same from her right wing play.
City now turn their attention to the FA Cup 5th round game against Premiership side Everton next Sunday the 27th January. 1.00 k.o at Winchester Road, Blaby.
