Leicester City gained their first win of the Dallas Youth Cup when they registered a 1-0 victory over local side Andromeda SC on Monday afternoon.

The Foxes went into the game on the back of a 2-1 defeat at the hands of CF Monterrey, while Andromeda had inflicted a shock 5-2 scoreline over Sao Paulo.

But Leicester overcame the formbook on the day - with Scott Garner grabbing the only goal of the game.

Speaking from City's American training base, Academy manager Jon Rudkin said: "It was a tough game against really difficult opposition - a good test for our youngsters.

"We are now left hoping that other results go our way if we are to progress to the later stages, but this victory has given us a good chance.

"The whole experience will stand all of these lads in good stead for the future. It's a world class field and we have enjoyed every minute of it so far."
