City staff worked hard to get this Midland Combination League game on as they entertained lowly placed Hereford at Winchester Road, Blaby on a slippery surface.

The visitors had an early corner that the Foxes' defence coped well with. At the other end City's Courtney Sweetman-Kirk breached the visitor's defence but fired wide.

Soon after the Foxes went into the lead, Natasha Meade pulled the ball out on the left, cut inside the full-back and hit a powerful shot but the Keeper could only parry it out, but Sweetman-Kirk was on hand to slot it home.
City increased their lead when Skipper, Remi Allen, put the over-lapping wing back, Leah Rawle, through and she hit an unstoppable shot into the roof of the net.

Hereford were hitting City on the break but stern defending by Jade Radburn, Nicole Nymoen and Lauren Impey stemmed the flow. City's right sided player, Nat Reay, went on a run but her shot ballooned over.
With the wind at their backs, the Foxes started the second half in quick tempo.

Allen got down the visitor's right, crossed into the path of Meade who tapped the ball home.

The visitor's were battling hard to stem the tide. Caz Toone's pace down the right opened up the Hereford defence but her cross went for a City corner. Rawle took a left-footed in-swinging corner but the Keeper could only push it into the net from underneath the crossbar.

Remarkably, full-back Rawle, completed her amazing hat-trick by doing exactly the same thing she had done a few minutes earlier. City again gained a corner not long after and again struck a fantastic corner which hit the underside of the crossbar and Hereford scrambled to clear.

Harriet Crofts, Allen and Impey were commanding the midfield stopping Hereford from getting out of their half and sparking several attacking movements as the game went on.

City hit their sixth goal when Toone threaded the ball through to Sweetman-Kirk who finished neatly.

City were pressing Hereford all the time and Impey then had two powerful headers just going over from Allen's perfect corners.

The Hereford team deserve credit as they played with a lot of spirit.
