Leicester City new boy David Bell says his feet haven't touched the ground since sealing a loan move from Luton Town until the end of the season.

The club confirmed at 11am on Friday morning that the deal had gone through - after they had received the necessary confirmation from the Football League.

And the 24-year-old midfielder revealed that he had been on the Luton Town training pitch when he finally heard the news that the move had been ratified.

He said: "I was on the training pitch this morning when Mick Harford pulled me over and told me to get myself over to Leicester because the deal had gone through.

"It's all been a bit manic to say the least. I found out yesterday afternoon that there was a chance of going to Leicester, but it wasn't sorted out until just before the deadline.

"We then had to wait to get the move approved by the Football League. That came through at 11am and I was straight in my car as soon as I found out.

"Leicester are a massive club with a huge fan base and I am absolutely over the moon to have been given the chance to play for them. I have just got to prove my ability now.

"I grew up in Wellingborough so I know all about the club. They have always been the biggest local club to me and I am thrilled to have been given the chance to play for them."

Bell is well aware of his new surroundings, having been part of the Luton side that battled out a 1-1 draw with the Foxes at the Walkers Stadium last season.

He added: "I remember that day very well. I set up the equaliser and we came away with a point. That was a big result for us at the time.

"It's a magnificent stadium and I can't wait to get the chance to play there once again."
