It was another night of missed chances as Leicester City's reserve side went down 2-1 at Port Vale on Monday evening.

City fielded a team containing a mixture of youngsters and experienced professionals on the night - including Radi Kishishev and James Chambers.

The second string went into the match on the back of a 3-0 defeat to Bradford - despite having the lion's share of the possession on that occasion.

And despite creating a host the Foxes would again be left disappointed.

Billy McKay grabbed an equaliser with 68 minutes on the clock, but a late goal would seal the victory for the home side.

Speaking after the game, Reserve team boss Gerry Taggart said: "We had six clear cut chances on the night but the Port Vale goalkeeper has just had one of those games.

"We took the game to them in the first half, but we got punished for some sloppy defending.

"Little blips like that have cost us in the end. But the lads gave us everything in the second half and they couldn't be faulted for their effort.

"There were some tired legs out there but they never gave up."
