Leicester City boss Ian Holloway could welcome as many as seven players back from injury when the Foxes take on Colchester United at the Walkers Stadium on Saturday.

Holloway was without a number of first team regulars for the trip to Bramall Lane to face Sheffield United last Saturday - and his side went down 3-0.

But the Foxes chief has confirmed that he expects to have further numbers at his disposal for the U's clash this weekend.

He said: "Things are looking up on the injury front. Iain Hume and Jamie Clapham will be back in training today (Tuesday), while DJ Campbell should also have recovered from his groin problem come the weekend.

"We have also got Ben Alnwick back with us from Tottenham. He returned last week and was back in training yesterday.

"Kelvin Etuhu has been suffering with a nerve problem in his back, but he has responded well to treatment and has an outside chance of being fit for the weekend.

"Add to that the fact that Barry Hayles and Lee Hendrie are both available once again and things look a little healthier."

Holloway also gave an update on long-term absentees Levi Porter and Elvis Hammond.

Porter suffered a cruciate ligament injury in City's Carling Cup defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last October, while Hammond has been out for the majority of the season with an ankle problem.

He added: "Both Levi and Elvis are back outside on the training pitches running around. It is too early for them to go back into full training, but they are heading in the right direction."
