Leicester City boss Ian Holloway was this afternoon full of praise for the Foxes faithful after it was confirmed that Saturday's Championship clash against Sheffield Wednesday is a sell out.

City will register the highest attendance of any club in the Championship this season when they take on Brian Laws side this weekend.

And Holloway believes that the fans have got a big part to play in helping to secure the club's Championship status on the day.

In a personal message to supporters, he said: "This is, without doubt, the biggest game of my footballing career - and I am sure a lot of you out there will be going into the match knowing exactly where I am coming from.

"It goes without saying that you can play a huge part on Saturday afternoon.

"The support we received at Barnsley was absolutely magnificent and you played a vital part in the outcome of the game.

"Our destiny remains in our own hands and if we don't do what we know we can do and do it well enough then we won't deserve to be in this division next season. That's a fact.

"For me there are 180 minutes of football remaining this season - and we want to finish it on a high note with our best run of the campaign.

"I think it is absolutely vital that we get things right for the future and if we can do it under this pressure and in these circumstances, then I think we'll all show people what this club means to us."

The club is urging supporters to turn up at the stadium at the earliest possible opportunity on the day to avoid congestion at the turnstiles.

Gates open from 1:30pm - allowing supporters to take to their seats early and cheer on the Birch as he attempts his 28th annual charity run for PROSTaid.
