Foxes Offer Their Support
Leicester City have leant their weight to the successful partnership between the City of Leicester and Haskovo in Bulgaria.
This relationship began five years ago when the two parties signed a co-operation protocol to help cement a collaborative partnership to develop specific areas of joint activity.
Therefore, club officials were on hand to offer their support when representatives from Haskovo Municipality recently visited Leicester City Council.
Foxes Community Manager Angela White, with the Lord Mayor of Leicester Councillor Mary Draycott in attendance at the Town Hall, presented Mayor of Haskovo Dipl. Eng. Georgi Ivanov with a dozen City first-team shirts which will be worn by underprivileged children, who are keen on developing their football skills in difficult conditions.
White said: "I hope the children enjoy wearing our club colours - I've already been informed that they will be keeping an eye on our results from afar!"
Cllr Draycott was delighted that City had only helped strengthen the partnership between the two Cities and added: "Both Cities believe that the establishment of such co-operation will serve their common interest and contribute to the enhancement of the economic and social development of the people of both communities."
