Iain Hume's third goal of the season helped Leicester City record a hard-fought point against an in-form Burnley at Turf Moor on Tuesday evening.

The Canadian international pounced 12 minutes from time to earn his side a share of the spoils after an improved second half display from the visitors.

It was Hume's first goal since September 15 and how crucial it proved to be for Ian Holloway's side after David Unsworth's early opener for the Clarets.

The Foxes' chances were limited while at the other end they were indebted to keeper Marton Fulop who made a string of impressive saves to frustrate the hosts.

Gabor Kiraly saved comfortably from Patrick Kisnorbo's header inside two minutes after the Australian international was the first to Alan Sheehan's in-swinging free-kick.

At the other end, Fulop had to be alert to gather Jon Harley's flighted cross three minutes later.

The returning Alan Maybury, playing on the right side of midfield, shot high and wide on seven minutes.

Alan Mahon did likewise five minutes later after Robbie Blake's free-kick from 25-yards was blocked by the Foxes wall.

Kiraly punched clear Sheehan's corner in the 14th minute under pressure from Gareth McAuley before Fulop came to the visitors' rescue.

After some neat build-up play, the Hungarian international saved Blake's low shot with his legs.

But from the resulting corner, Blake did well down the left hand by-line before pulling the ball back for Unsworth, who hit his first time effort past a helpless Fulop and into the back of the net for the opener on 19 minutes - his first in a Clarets shirt.

A last ditch block from McAuley thwarted Blake five minutes later as the home side continued to keep the pressure on their opponents.

Chris McCann turned Hume's cross behind for a corner in the 33rd minute before the same player headed over from Blake's flag-kick at the other end.
Kyle Lafferty drove wide on 36 minutes.

Richard Stearman glanced his header over from another Sheehan set-piece four minutes later before McAuley denied Blake moments later following Andy Gray's flick-on.

Blake's touch let him down after he capitalised on a mix-up between Darren Kenton and Maybury and Fulop was on hand to smoother the loose ball.

McAuley squandered a golden opportunity to draw his side level when he was presented with a free header in first-half stoppage time.

But with only Kiraly to beat, he directed his header wide from close range and the danger was cleared.

Mahon drilled his thunderbolt narrowly wide but he could not add to his side's tally and it remained 1-0 to the home side at the break.

A misplaced Stephen Clemence pass worked its way to Gray but Fulop got down well to stop the shot from 20-yards.

On 57 minutes, McAuley's fizzing shot from distance flew narrowly wide of the Burnley goal before Lafferty drove wide from the edge of the box in the 62nd minute.

Kisnorbo cleared McCann's shot off the line after Fulop could only parry Lafferty's left wing cross on 66 minutes.

Kiraly saved from Clemence a minute later before the visitors made a double change on 71 minutes.

Ashley Chambers and Andy King replaced Maybury and Sheehan as they reverted to a 4-3-3 formation for the final 20 minutes of the contest.

Fulop saved from Lafferty at his near post soon after and that paid dividends as City grabbed an equaliser on 78 minutes.

Stearman did well down the right before crossing the ball to the back post for Hume, who volleyed home past Kiraly for the leveller.

Steve Jones replaced Blake in the 80th minute before Fulop was again City's hero as he brilliantly saved from Gray moments later.

Former Fox Joey Gudjonsson came on for Mahon late on then Clemence was in the right place at the right time to clear another Burnley effort off the line in stoppage time.
