A dogged Leicester City played out the final 30 minutes with 10-men to record a hard-earned goalless draw with newly-promoted Scunthorpe United at Glanford Park on Saturday evening.
Striker Iain Hume, making his 101st appearance for the Foxes, was harshly dismissed on the hour after picking up a second yellow card from referee Scott Mathieson.
But the visitors, now unbeaten in five matches, stood firm to make it 345 minutes of Championship football without conceding a goal.
City's chances in front of goal were limited with only Patrick Kisnorbo having a goal unluckily ruled out for offside while Matty Fryatt saw his effort when clean through saved by Iron keeper Joe Murphy.
However, there was no way through for the Foxes and they had to make so with a point at the final whistle.
Marton Fulop, back after international duty with Hungary, was called into action as early as the second minute when he tipped Paul Hayes' 20-yard effort around the post for a corner.
Andy Butler then headed the resulting corner over the bar as the hosts looked for an early break-though.
At the other end, Fryatt saw his shot on the turn blocked by Andy Crosby on 10 minutes before Martin Paterson was adjudged offside when clean through three minutes later.
Both sides battled for territorial possession with defences well on top as the game entered its first quarter.
Fulop gathered well from Kevan Hurst's dangerous inswigning free-kick in the 27th minute then Gareth McAuley headed narrowly wide from Alan Sheehan's set-piece two minutes later.
The best chance of the first half fell to Paterson on 39 minutes when he was presented with a chance at the back post from Jim Goodwin's cross.
However, the forward could not keep his header down and the ball flew aimlessly over the bar.
Two minutes later Hayes' glancing header skimmed narrowly wide from Hurst's left wing cross.
Iain Hume was booked on 42 minutes for a foul on Cliff Byrne and with little by way of goalmouth action, the game remained goalless at half-time.
Fryatt headed wide from Richard Stearman's hanging cross on 47 minutes before Matt Sparrow was cautioned for a foul on James Chambers five minutes later.
However, the visitors were reduced to 10 men on the hour when Hume was harshly sent off after picking up a second booking for an apparent foul on Sparrow on the half-way line.
Kisnorbo had a goal ruled out for offside in the 67th minute after he headed home past Joe Murphy from Sheehan's quick free-kick.
A minute later the Foxes should have gone ahead but after capitalising on a defensive slip, Fryatt saw his effort saved by Murphy.
Ben May replaced Jonathan Forte on 73 minutes and he shot wide five minutes later as the home side looked to capitalise on their one man advantage.
DJ Campbell replaced Fryatt in the 80th minute then Shaun Newton made way for the fit-again James Wesolowski five minutes later.
United pushed forward in injury time but the visitors stood firm to record another point.
