Former Fox Paul Dickov came back to haunt Leicester City when his injury-time winner put an end to the visitors' three game unbeaten run.
After coming on 20 minutes from time, the loan striker turned the ball home late on to break City hearts but send the home fans happy.
It was a cruel blow for the Foxes after Steve Howard's second goal for his new club had cancelled out Gary Taylor-Fletcher's early opener for the Seasiders.
Clear-cut chances were few and far between with only Stephen Clemence and Richard Stearman coming close.
And they were made to pay when Dickov had the last laugh deep in to stoppage time.
Stephen McPhee had the ball in the back of the net inside two minutes but the goal was ruled out for a clear offside.
But the home side did catch the Foxes napping a minute later and took the lead through Taylor-Fletcher.
Stephen Crainey's speculative ball forward seemed to elude the visitors' defence and the Blackpool skipper ghosted in at the back post before curling the ball home with the outside of his foot past Ben Alnwick for the opener.
City looked for an immediate reply and Zsolt Laczko saw his shot deflected behind for a corner.
Shaun Barker then had to be alert on nine minutes to head Barry Hayles' dangerous cross from the right over his own bar despite Clemence making his presence felt.
Play was held up for several minutes soon after when the assistant referee on the far side pulled up through injury and had to be replaced by fourth official Mr D Bond.
Laczko was booked on 23 minutes for unsporting behaviour before Hayles just failed to latch on to strike partner Steve Howard's knock down from Joe Mattock's left-wing cross.
The strong wind was causing all sorts of problems for the Foxes defence and in the 29th minute Alnwick was forced to race out to the edge of the area and punt the ball clear under pressure from McPhee.
The diminutive striker then headed wide from Barker's hanging cross in the 33rd minute.
Five minutes before the interval Stearman tested Paul Rachubka from 18-yards but the Seasiders shotstopper was equal to the task.
At the other end, Ben Burgess dragged his effort across the face of goal after breaking clear down the left hand side.
Barker could and may be should have doubled his side's lead on 43 minutes when he rose unchallenged to meet Wes Hoolahan's corner, but somehow put his header over from close range.
In first half stoppage time, Iain Hume shot wide after some neat build-up play involving Matt Oakley and Howard and it remained 1-0 to the home side at half-time.
Manager Ian Holloway made two changes for the start of the second half with DJ Campbell and James Chambers replacing Laczko and Mattock.
The visitors were the first to show after the break with Howard heading wide from Clemence's corner.
A last gasp tackle thwarted Chambers on 51 minutes before Oakley shot over the bar from 25-yards soon afterwards.
Burgess looped his header over the bar five minutes later then Kaspars Gorkss fired over.
Taylor-Fletcher put the ball high and wide on the hour but it was the visitors who duly equalised in the 62nd minute.
Chambers' cross from the left was only half cleared by Gorkss and Howard was on hand to side-foot the ball home from close range for the equaliser.
Stearman was cautioned on 65 minutes for a pull on Crainey before recent signing andDickov replaced McPhee in the 70th minute.
Burgess capitalised on Alnwick's miss-hit clearance three minutes later but with the goal gaping he put his lob well over the bar much to the annoyance of the home crowd.
Blackpool made a double change on 76 minutes with Andy Morrell and Andy Welsh coming on for Burgess and Hoolahan respectively.
Gabor Bori replaced Hume in the 83rd minute but Dickov won it for the home side in injury time when he capitalised on a long ball forward and swept the ball into the net past Alnwick for the winner much to City's dismay.
