Patrick Kisnorbo finally became a Leicester City player in the summer of 2005 having signed a pre-contract agreement the previous season.

As with Mark de Vries and Alan Maybury, he followed then manager Craig Levein from Hearts to Leicester. Kisnorbo played 64 times for the Jambos during his 18 months in Edinburgh.

Kisnorbo is a 24-year-old Australian, with an Italian passport, who can play in midfield or defence and has secured a regular starting spot since switching to centre half.

He was a member of the Australian side which reached the World Youth Championship finals in 2001 and has gone on to win seven caps. Unfortunately, despite his excellent form during the second half of the 2005-06 campaign, Kisnorbo was unable to force himself into the Australia World Cup squad.
