Having made early appearances for the Walkers Academy under 17s at full back, Wesolowski quickly progressed and cemented his reputation as a tough-tackling central midfield player.
He played for Northern Spirit in his homeland before moving to join the Foxes in 2002.
'Jimbo' received international acclaim at the end of last season, competing for Australia in the FIFA World Youth Championships and was labelled "a star in the making" by the Australian Football Federation.
He caught the eye during the 2005-06 pre-season and following his performance in a 3-0 win at Kettering Town, was selected as a member of the touring party to Norway.
Making his first team home debut in the friendly against Celtic in July 2005, James suffered a disappointing set-back when he broke his leg. Wesolowski has since made an impressive comeback to make the starting line-up for the trip to Plymouth in January 2006, a place in the City side which he looked like holding on to until bad luck struck again as he sustained another break to the same leg in the away fixture at Brighton.
Wesolowski has previously been called up to train with the full Australian international squad, but has yet to make a senior appearance for his country.
The player continued to progress during the 2006-07 campaign - making a total of 24 appearances and scoring one goal.
James signed a new four-year contract in July 2007 to keep him at the club until 2011.
